This is the first picture for my AP 2D portfolio. The theme is "confinement" which will be portrayed in various ways through fashion photography.
This photo represents how I feel about school. Although it is necessary to learn, I'm not an advocate for the institution. There are more effective ways to attain knowledge rather than within the confines of school and in the presence of its lovely attendants.
First, you know I love your work, and I like this series "Confinement". The colors work together, strengthening it. The circle works as a part of the series, like the other circles in the series. I like that this one is dark, with browns, instead of the usual lighter color pallet. I believe you could make this a stronger photograph; to be about confinement at school, maybe you could make it look like a library instead? A suggestion. This is your weakest in the series. it has nothing to center your eye. Maybe less books? But still a dynamic photo.
First of all, this is gorgeous! Your representation of the point you wanted to get across is perfect and beautiful. Second, i couldnt agree more about what you said about school. There are many other ways of learning. The only point of an actual school is to learn to interact with others. I can say all of this from experience, as the school system failed for me in every way possible and i was forced to choose a living hell or to leave and graduate on my own. Considering im still here, im sure you can guess which one i chose ^^.
Anyway, just wanted to say that i really love this and that i know how the women in the photo feels.
Hey if you're still doing this project, you could do Confined by Motherhood. Sometimes, even though I love my child, I feel like I'm being held back because I am a mother...
Excellent photo! Great composition and tone. Plus, seeing as how I'm a shameless bookworm, this borders on my idea of my ultimate fantasy. Now where is the aisle in my book store with beautiful women lounging around?
